A St. Vincent and the Grenadines national was killed on Monday night in Trinidad, following a boating accident off Chaguaramas, the Trinidad Express reports.
According to the Trinidad Express, Police said that around 11.30 p.m. Elvin Joseph who was part of a fishing trawler crew that had docked in Chaguaramas.
The Trinidad Express article stated that – “that night, police said he left the trawler and paddled closer to shore in a dinghy to get better Wi-Fi reception so that he would have been able to place a WhatsApp call.
A large pleasure craft was cruising through the area and slammed into Joseph’s dinghy.
The man piloting the larger craft stopped and contacted the Coast Guard while doing what he could to help Joseph”.
“Joseph was etaken to the St James District Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival” – the article further stated.
Carenage Police, in Trinidad, are investigating.
