The Board, Management and Staff of this country’s lone electricity company Vinlec, have been commended for work done generally in St Vincent and the Grenadines and more specifically over the past few months with Covid and the volcanic eruptions.
The Commendation came from Prime Minister Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, during a presentation in the Eyeing La Soufriere programme on NBC Radio on Wednesday June 30th, 2021.
Prime Minister Gonsalves in commending Vinlec, said the company has been doing good work and continues to improve as it relates to efficiency and reliability. He highlighted the very positive role-played in the period from COVID to La Soufriere.
According to Prime Minister Gonsalves, “since the volcano erupted they have been giving monthly discounts from March and will continue until August.” The Prime Minister noted that over EC$500,000 in discounts have been given to customers by Vinlec in addition to other assistance and relief.
