(Updated @ 10.45) – Police searched the homes of ten persons on the Caribbean island of St Vincent and the Grenadines on Saturday evening.
St Vincent’s Opposition leader Dr Godwin Friday on Saturday night said the searches were in connection with a protest on Thursday.
Friday said that activists, business people and opposition spokespersons homes were among those searched on Saturday.
The Opposition leader stated that the searches are a signal that they are coming for those at the forefront of the demonstrations.
At the press conference, opposition talk show host Colin Graham said the home of Douglas De Freitas, owner of Nice Radio, was searched. At this station, the Opposition party hosts a daily program.

Police on the Caribbean island of St Vincent and the Grenadines searched the homes of several Opposition activists on Saturday evening.
It is unclear if any arrests were made; however, this publication was informed that police searched for guns and electronic devices.
Opposition talk show host Colin Graham said the police turned up at his home around 4 pm and issued a warrant to search for guns, ammunition and electronic devices.
The General Secretary of the Opposition NDP posted to Facebook that security forces came to his home fully armed looking for him. However, he was not at home.
The Opposition Party, the NDP, will hold a press conference tonight at 8 pm.
