Two Opposition activists on the Caribbean island of St Vincent and the Grenadines pleaded not guilty to charges brought against them when they appeared in court on Monday, August 16.
Adriana King and Kenson King were charged with organizing a procession without informing the police twenty-four hours before and taking part in a procession or meeting. The charges were laid under the Public Order Act.
The procession and meetings allegedly took place on July 29 and August 5 in Kingstown.
Both activists who were taken into custody on Friday afternoon was released on Sunday after being in lockup for 48hrs.
Adriana and Kenson King are fierce critics of the current regime. Adriana King is a school teacher, while Kenson King is a suspended prison officer.
The duo will return to court on November 17 2021
