Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, member of parliament for North Windward, said the Georgetown clinic is being transformed into a smart clinic. Gonsalves, speaking on NBC radio on November 30, stated that the improved facility will soon be accessible to the general public.
Gonsalves stated that he hopes the smart clinic will be officially launched by December 22, 2022, but if that is not possible, he is looking forward to the official opening occurring early in the New Year.
The smart clinic is located on the same site as the Georgetown Smart Hospital and the Modern Medical and Diagnostic Centre in Chili Village, Georgetown.
Gonsalves also announced on November 30 that there are plans for an MRI machine to be installed at the MMDC at Georgetown, with the MP estimating that this will cost approximately EC$10 million.
“Due to the lack of room at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, the MRI machine will be located at the Modern Medical Centre in Georgetown. An MRI machine will also be installed at the Acute Referral Hospital, which will be constructed in Arnos Vale”, Gonsalves said.
