Sixteen (16) positions have been created under the Ministry of Education and National Reconciliation. Half of these; eight (8), are required to staff the new Petit Bordel Technical Institute. Four (4) positions are needed for the staffing of Early Childhood Centers (in Sandy Bay and Chateaubelair). The final four (4) positions are to provide staff for the Canouan Secondary School. This school has been in operation since 2018 and the form levels have now reached to that of form five (5). Consequently, it has become necessary to increase the human resources to accommodate the education of the students at that level.
Five (5) posts have been created within the Ministry of Health and the Environment these include three (3) that have been added under Hospital Services to provide support at Chateaubelair Smart Hospital, Levi Latham Health Complex and The Modern Medical Complex. The other two (2) under Community Health Services are Dental Assistants for Kingstown and Union Island.
Sixty-Five (65) positions have been created within the Ministry of National Security, the majority of these, fifty-two (52) constables have been added to the workforce of the Police Service, to assist in increasing the level of public security and safety. Five (5) positions have been allotted to the Coast Guard Service to enhance their ability to patrol our waters. The National Emergency Management Organisation (NEMO) has been credited with two (2) more posts including a Geologist to further enhance their human resource capability as they seek to improve the operation of the seismic network to ensure better monitoring and early warning for the La Soufriere volcano. The Passport and Immigration Department has been allocated two (2) new posts to enhance their data-gathering capabilities in the Grenadine Islands. Two (2) new positions have been added to the Policy, Planning and Administration programme of the ministry and Maritime Administration benefited from the addition of one (1) new post. Prisons will see the addition of two (2) posts to bolster their ability to provide medical care for inmates.
The Ministry of Tourism has been allocated five (5) positions, four (4) of which are under the Civil Aviation Department; mainly to fulfil regulatory obligations with respect to ECCA and ICAO. The other post is a Director of Tourism under Tourism Administration to strengthen the ministry’s strategy and policy formulation capabilities.
The Ministry of Urban Development has been granted a Project Officer I and a Procurement officer; mainly to build up their project implementation capacity. The Energy unit was also credited with a new post of Director.
The Ministry of Agriculture has been allocated five (5) new positions of Agriculture Instructor (untrained) and three (3) Driver/Office Attendants under the Agriculture Extension and Advisory Services and Policy, Planning and Administration respectively.
In the Ministry of National Mobilisation, Social Development, Family, Gender Affairs, Housing etc. eight (8) positions have been established; a Deputy Director for Beneficiary Management has been added to the Public Assistance Unit. The Administration of the Housing and Informal Settlement Programme has been strengthened with the addition of a Permanent Secretary and two (2) clerks. Two inspector I have been added to the Community Development and Coorperatives programme. Under Gender development one (1) additional counsellor position was created.
A Permanent Secretary and an Administrative Assistant have been added to The Office of The Prime Minister, to provide further administrative support to the office and a new post of Chief Technical Officer has been created under the Post-Secondary and Higher Education Programme.
The Ministry of the Public Service, Consumer Affairs and Sports has been credited with the addition of six (6) Sports Coaches under the Division of Physical Education and Sports and an Administrative Assistant under the Employee Assistant Programme (EAP).
