Marlon Bute makes donation to SVG Prison Service rehabilitation programme
His Majesty’s Prison (HMP) is now better equipped to offer high-quality rehabilitation services to prisoners who are now enrolled in the prison’s rehabilitation programme thanks to Marlon Bute of District Stairs.
Bute presented Timothy Hazelwood, the superintendent of prisons, with a number of power tools and auxiliary goods on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. The tools will be used in the sessions to help inmates who are currently enrolled in the prison’s rehabilitation programme improve their skills.
Bute said District Stairs is happy to work with His Majesty’s Prison to make their rehabilitation programme a huge success. He said that he felt it was his societal duty to make a real contribution to the nation where he was born.
Timothy Hazelwood, Superintendent of Prisons, thanked Bute for the material gift and noted that it was appropriate. In the future lives of the prisoners as well as the growth of the prison rehabilitation programme, he claimed that the tools will be crucial. He added that HMP valued their continued partnership and hoped it would continue to develop and flourish.
Marlon Bute, a Vincentian living in Canada, is the proprietor of the Ontario-based business Districts Stairs.
