A group of twenty-five individuals from St Vincent and the Grenadines departed the island to partake in a five-month programme focused on hospitality security training and gaining practical work experience at Sandals resort in St. Lucia.
The group of twenty-five (25) young individuals were carefully chosen from a pool of applicants and are currently undergoing preparatory training at La Vue Hotel.
This training is being conducted by Titus Leo, an esteemed security expert who holds the position of Chief Executive Officer and CEO at Security Training Institute & Security Services Inc., a reputable organisation headquartered in St. Lucia.
On October 24, the Tourism Minister, Carlos James informed the group that they serve as representatives for the nation and encouraged them to uphold a positive image while in St. Lucia.
Upon their arrival back in St. Vincent and the Grenadines in March 2024, it is believed that the individuals comprising the cohort will have undergone comprehensive training, enabling them to proficiently deliver security services at the esteemed Sandals Resorts located at Buccament Bay, renowned for its five-star accommodations.
The inauguration date for the resort, which consists of 301 rooms, is projected to be March 27, 2024.
