1 Min Read

Clifford Michael Watt, a 32-year-old construction worker, was tragically shot at his home yesterday morning, marking Antigua and Barbuda’s tenth homicide of the year.

Watt was apparently involved in a fight outside his home in Gray’s Farm prior to this event.

Though the details of the disagreement are unknown, unconfirmed reports indicate that Watt had a verbal exchange with another man during the earlier altercation, following which the other person fled the area.

Assailants arrived about an hour later and broke into Watt’s home shortly after 9 a.m. They then opened fire, striking him five times and left his home riddled with bullet holes.

Watt, a father of three, was rushed to Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre but died shortly thereafter.

His premature demise has shocked a mourning family and a community. He was described as a quiet man.
