WestJet, a Canadian leisure airline, has started its first flights to the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire.
The first flight from Toronto arrived this week, providing a big boost for the island’s exit from the Canadian market.
“We were looking forward to the arrival of our guests from Canada with great anticipation, and the much-anticipated day has finally arrived with the first WestJet flight landing on Bonaire,” stated Miles Mercera, CEO of Tourism Corporation Bonaire (TCB).
“Canada remains one of our top 10 markets, and this historic new connection signifies a major step in accommodating the increasing desire for tourism on our picturesque island.”
The new nonstop route operates once a week, departing from Toronto on Tuesdays and returning on Wednesdays.
The Toronto-Bonaire service will be available until April 24, 2024.
