The Dominican government has approved a price decrease for gasoline products following a review of prices for the regulatory cycle from November 27 to December 15.
According to the government, the new retail price for petrol will be $13.91 a gallon beginning December 27, 2023, a $0.34 or 2.4 percent decrease.
Diesel is now $13.41 per gallon, down $0.89 or 6.2 percent, while kerosene is now $11.32 per gallon, down $1.41 or 11 percent.
The drop in commodity prices is due to an increase in US crude production, which has resulted in an increase in market inventory.
Dominica’s government has stated that it will continue to implement steps to reduce inflation and soften the impact of adverse market forces on consumers.
