Four armed males are being sought by Guyanese police after robbing the Wen Jie Supermarket in Herstelling, East Bank Demerara (EBD) last evening.
The males were seen on CCTV entering the supermarket about 8:46 p.m., assaulting the cashier, and stealing the register of roughly GYD $500,000 in cash.
The Guyana Police Force said in a statement that an anti-crime patrol team responded to the incident and was shot at by the assailants.
“A police patrol returned fire, and one of the bandits is believed to have been injured.” “They escaped through some bushes at Phase One Farm, EBD,” police stated.
