- New hotel breaks ground in St Kitts
The Hotel Indigo franchise is coming to St Kitts and Nevis with a groundbreaking ceremony held on island last Thursday. The hotel will be constructed in Frigate Bay.
The boutique hotel will feature 42 luxurious suites, a fully-equipped conference room, a modern business centre, multiple gourmet restaurants, a gym, a unique bowling alley, an elegant bar, and an exquisite swimming pool.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, said Hotel Indigo is in keeping with the government’s sustainable island state agenda.
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Economic Development, International Trade, Investment, Industry, and Commerce, Dr Denzil Douglas, said 130 persons will be employed during the construction and operational phase and will be a beacon of economic growth for the island.
Agriculture Minister Samal Duggins in a post said he was honoured to be present at the historic moment of Hotel Indigo’s groundbreaking.
He posted: “A heartfelt salute to our Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Denzil Douglas, your leadership is putting St Kitts on the global map. Your dedication is commendable! Hats off also to Marsha Henderson, whose unwavering commitment is shaping our tourism landscape. We are making significant strides in tourism!
I also echo the same sentiments as our Prime Minister, Dr Terrence Drew “We small but we Tallawah,” reminding us of our strength. Despite our geographical size we have been able to achieve landmark milestones. The development of this hotel being one of those milestones, as it falls under our Tourism and Foreign Investment umbrellas in achieving a Sustainable Island State. In addition, this project speaks volumes to our good character and ability to operate well within the international community. With that being said, I wish Hotel Indigo a triumphant success! I’m excited to witness St Kitts shine brighter in the world of hospitality.”
The developer for Hotel Indigo is Troy Cove Development Limited.
