In a true display of Tobago love and team spirit, volunteers from the Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) and the Tobago Festivals Commission Limited (TFCL) joined together in volunteering for the recovery mission at Lambeau on February 21, 2024.
Led by the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA), clean-up efforts have seen significant progress thus far. Secretary for the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), Councillor Tashia Burris, who also visited the site, commended the swift action taken by the relevant authorities to contain the situation while noting that the best of the island remains unaffected.
“Our businesses are open. Just because you can’t operate between Rockley Bay and Cove, doesn’t mean that you can’t go to Pigeon Point, Store Bay, Castara, Englishman’s Bay, Speyside…all of these places remain open and we want to ensure that our visitors still are able to enjoy what Tobago has to offer.”
As Tobago’s resilience continues to shine through, TTAL remains committed to working alongside stakeholders across the tourism sector to preserve the essence of what makes Tobago special while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of our visitors, who continue to be an integral part of our island community.
