The US couple who was onboard the Yacht Simplicity when three escaped prisoners from Grenada hijacked it, according to Grenada police, was most likely thrown into the ocean.
On Sunday, February 18, three prisoners, namely Ron Mitchell, Trevon Robinson, and Atiba Stanislaus, escaped police custody at the Saint South Central George police station.
Information suggests that on Monday, the escaping prisoners commandeered a catamaran named ‘Simplicity’ with two occupants on board, namely Kathy Brandel and Ralph Hendry, both U.S. citizens.
“They headed to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Information suggests that while travelling between Grenada and St. Vincent, they dispose of the occupants,” Police Commissioner Don Mckenzie said.
Mckenzie said the information that the Grenadian authorities possess is limited and can be considered second-hand, as they have had very limited discussions regarding the details of the investigations with their Vincentian counterpart.
“The conversations have mostly been centred around procedural contingencies.”
