- 14-Year-old School girl murdered in Carriacou
The circumstances surrounding the discovery of 14-year-old Esther Patterson’s body in Lauriston, on the sister island of Carriacou, are starting to come to light, two days after her alleged murder.
According to a reliable source who spoke with THE NEW TODAY, 31-year-old businessman John Alexis found Hillsborough Secondary School (HSS) student Esther Patterson Friday on a church property. Alexis took Patterson to the Princess Royal Hospital.
After being dispatched to the only hospital on the little island, two police officers spoke with Dr. McLawrence, the female doctor on duty, inside the emergency room.
Alexis, the student’s stepfather, is said to have brought her to the hospital, according to what the doctor told the authorities.
According to Alexis, he saw Esther at Pastor Happy’s Brunswick church leaning against a wall.
A police officer said that when his two colleagues went to the hospital, they saw the young woman laying face up on a bed with her lips open and a white sheet covering her entire body from her chest down.
The pupil was examined, but the doctor claimed she soon realised the student was dead.
She added that upon closer inspection of the body, she saw bruises and bloodstains inside Esther’s vagina, as well as aggressive marks around her neck and inside her mouth.
The stepfather said that on Friday morning, sometime after nine in the morning, he left Esther off in the town of Hillsborough and gave her money to pay for the bus ride home from school and to purchase a drink for her break.
Additionally, he informed the police that he would see her again when he was heading into town in his van at 2:00 p.m.
