Sandals will open its ninth Caribbean location, the first in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG).
Sandals Saint Vincent & the Grenadines, with 301 rooms, will be the adults-only Sandals brand’s 18th resort, opening on March 27.
Its opening follows the Sandals Dunn’s River debut in Jamaica last May, which marked a return to an Ocho Rios location that was previously home to a Sandals resort.
Gary Sadler, executive vice president of sales and industry relations at Unique Vacations, Sandals’ sales and marketing arm, told Travel Weekly that accommodation innovation is a top priority, such as the first two-story overwater villas at the St. Vincent and the Grenadines resorts, which each have a rooftop with an outdoor lounge.
“No longer can you provide your guests with just a single room,” Sadler said. “You have to now come up with unique suites.”
“Oftentimes, people rest on their laurels,” Sadler said. “We have never done that. And that makes our demand as strong as it is today.”
