78-Year-Old Granted Bond in Georgetown Wounding Case

  • 78-YEAR-OLD LABOURER CHARGED FOR WOUNDING

On April 8, 2004, police arrested and charged Robert Clarke, a 78-year-old labourer from Caratal, Georgetown, for the offence of wounding.

According to the investigation, the accused allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 55-year-old labourer from Dixon Village by striking him on the head with a glass bottle. The offence was committed at Caratal on March 28th, at about 9:40 p.m.

Clarke appeared at Georgetown Magistrates Court. He pleaded guilty to the charges.

The court placed him on $2000.00 ECC bond, backed by one surety.

The court adjourned the matter to 11.04.24 for sentencing, requiring him to maintain no contact with the complainant.
