Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the creation of the “Josefa Joaquina Sanchez” Great Movement of Women’s Movements and swore in 517 women as part of this organization’s first promotional team.
“From now on, our country’s prospects are immense and they are in women’s hands,” the Bolivarian leader said, adding that the population is more united than ever to ensure that goods and services related to health, education, and production reach Venezuelan women.
The Josefa Joaquina Sanchez Great Movement of Women’s Movements was created to strengthen the organization of women in the fight for equality and social justice.
It will promote the women’s empowerment agenda through meetings in the 4,500 communal circuits in Venezuelan territory, where over 200,000 women’s committees are operating.

Venezuelan Authorities Meet with International Observers: Elvis Amoroso, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), met with international electoral delegations and Latin American parliamentarians visiting Venezuela ahead of the presidential elections on July 28th.
Amoroso informed the visitors that the Venezuelan electoral system has demonstrated its strength and transparency on multiple occasions: “It is the best electoral system in the world,” he said, expressing his certainty that they will objectively assess the electoral process and communicate their recommendations.
The CNE president mentioned that the upcoming elections fulfill aspects of the Barbados Agreements, among which is the holding of elections in the second semester of 2024.
To this end, all Venezuelan political sectors submitted proposals related to the dates of the elections to the National Assembly.
After being analyzed by the legislators, their proposals were presented to the CNE, which defined July 28th as the date with the greatest support for holding the presidential elections.
Amoroso also reminded that the presidential election is held every six years as established by the Venezuelan constitution. This time, 37 parties of different ideological tendencies nominated 13 presidential candidates, who were ratified by the electoral authorities after reviewing that they meet the requirements established by the laws.

Venezuelan President Meets with Colombian Counterpart
Colombian president Gustavo Petro arrived in Venezuela last Tuesday on an official visit, to meet with the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro in a strengthening of bilateral relations.
The Foreign Minister Yván Gil ratified that “both nations have an important agenda in common for the good of our peoples and the region. Brotherhood and peace diplomacy continue to triumph.”
On this occasion, both presidents reviewed the progress of the bilateral relations, according to the work agenda previously agreed between Foreign Ministers Yván Gil and Luis Murillo in order to strengthen the Commission of Neighborhood and Integration between both governments.
This is Petro’s fifth visit to Venezuela. He has expressed his interest in strengthening brotherly, economic, commercial, social and political relations between the two nations.
“No one will separate us from Colombia. We have great objectives to accomplish together. We are helping Colombia in peace. Likewise, we will deepen in energy, gas, oil, border security, increase in trade, economic issues, diplomatic cooperation. There are many points in common and if there are any differences, they are welcome,” said the Venezuelan president regarding the talks with his Colombian counterpart.

Vice President Rodriguez -U.S. and ExxonMobil planned to take Esequibo case to the ICJ: The Executive Vice-President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reiterated this Thursday that the United States (US) and the transnational Exxon Mobil planned to take the case on the dispute over the Essequibo territory to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) without Venezuela’s consent.
Rodriguez’s statements -published in her account in the social network X-respond to the position taken by the former Minister of Natural Resources of Guyana, Raphael Trotman, who accused the Executive Vice-President of “grabbing” a book of his authorship as a plea in the case of the Essequibo territory.
It is worth mentioning that the former Guyanese official, who called the use of his book an “idiom” and even ironically thanked him for promoting the sales of his book.
In this regard, Vice President Rodriguez responded to the publication and affirmed that the book details how Guyana, the United States and Exxon Mobil took the case to the ICJ, in violation of the Geneva Agreements.
Likewise, he reiterated his denunciation of the payments made by Exxon Mobil to Guyana’s lawyers and the lobbying that was perpetrated within the United Nations (UN) so that the case would be sent to the ICJ.
In this regard, he stated that, thanks to this book, it was discovered how Guyana intended to commit a “new crime 125 years later”, to dispossess Venezuela of the territory that historically belongs to the country.
