With funding from the Caribbean Development Bank, construction on the Sandy Bay Sea Defence Project is moving along quickly.
O.B. Sadoo Engineering Services, based in St. Lucia, and Kelectric Co. Ltd., a locally registered business, have been put into service by the CDB.
The job involves heavy machinery, so Sandy Bay residents and those living nearby should be aware of this, according to the ministry. Consequently, drivers and pedestrians alike should proceed with extreme caution. Unauthorised personnel are required by law to maintain a safe distance from all work places.
The Ministry issued an apology for any inconvenience caused and said that it is asking for the public’s cooperation while the project is being implemented.
The CDB has granted St. Vincent and the Grenadines (GOSVG) USD 13.5 million in funding for the Sandy Bay Sea Defences Resilience Project.
