- The Simón Bolívar School vessel To Visit SVG
Known worldwide as the Ambassador without Borders, The Simon Bolivar Training Ship docked at Port Kingstown on Thursday April 25th,2024.
The Overseas Training voyage trains cadets to be future navy officers. The aim of the voyage is to foster lasting relations in culture and sports and to interact with schools, special groups and the general public of countries where they visit.
On Thursday a welcome reception was hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Crew and members were met by Deputy Prime Minister Montgomery Daniel, Minister of Foreign Affairs & Foreign Trade Hon. Keisal Peters, along with other members of Parliament and friends of the people of Venezuela.
Minister Peters said that this visit signifies the rich history and the ongoing relationship between the two (2) countries and noted that with the opening of the Venezuelan Embassy here the friendship between the two countries was further deepened.
Presentations were made by Acting Prime Minister Montgomery Daniel, Commander of the Vessel Captain Ronald Briceno Huerta and the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard.
The visiting crew witnessed cultural performances by the La Gracia Dance Company. There was also an exchange of gifts by both countries, followed by a tour of the vessel with the Venezuelan Diplomats, members of the Diplomatic Corp, special guests and Officers of the royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and the Coast Guard.
The vessel last came to St Vincent and the Grenadines in 2019.

The Simón Bolívar School Vessel from Venezuela is coming to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to pay an official visit from Thursday 25th until Sunday 29th of April.
In Port Kingstown there will be an official welcome ceremony on Thursday, April 25th at 09:00 a.m. at the Cruise Ship Berth. On Thursday, April 25th from 02:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m. public and students from primary, secondary and SVG Community College can visit the Vessel. Some guided tours will be provided by the crewmen. Furthermore, on Friday, April 26th, on Saturday 27th and on Sunday 28th, all Vincentians and international citizens are invited to visit the Simon Bolivar School Vessel.
The Simón Bolívar School vessel is a training vessel for the Navy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela which trains cadets and future officers of the Venezuelan navy and projects the image of Venezuela in all ports of visit. The ship is named after Simón Bolívar, the liberator of Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Panama and Venezuela.

The Vessel will be open to the PUBLIC on Thursday, April 25th from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m., Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
