- Barrouallie Teenager Charged with Assault and Trespassing
Police arrested and charged a 17-year-old laborer from Barrouallie with multiple offenses, including assault, trespassing, and weapon possession.
On April 24, 2024, at 3:07 PM, Devon Hamlet was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm after he allegedly beat an 18-year-old student with a stick. This incident occurred in Barrouallie.
In a separate but related incident on April 23, 2024, Mr. Hamlet unlawfully entered the Central Leeward Secondary School with the intent to commit the offence of assault bodily harm. The accused was also found in possession of a pair of scissors without a lawful excuse, in the same location, leading to an additional charge of possessing a weapon of offense.
The Hamlet is expected to appear before the Barrouallie Magistrate’s Court to answer to these charges.
