Venezuelan Foreign Affairs Minister Yvan Gil denounced that the United States and the United Kingdom persist in involving themselves in the dispute between Venezuela and Guyana over the Essequibo, a 160,000-square-kilometers territory rich in natural resources.
During a meeting of the United Nations Charter Defense Group, Gil described as provocations the presence of a warship from the British navy in undelimited waters and the overflight of two U.S. planes on the border of the Guayana Esequiba.
In May 9, the U.S. Embassy in Guyana confirmed that, with the collaboration and approval of the Guyanese government, the overflight would be carried out with two U.S. Navy aircraft, F/A-18F Super Hornets, embarked on the USS George Washington aircraft carrier.
Previously, from May 6 to 8, Julie Nethercot, the director of Strategy, Policies, and Plans of the U.S. Southern Command (SouthCom), visited to oversee “strategic planning, policy development, and coordination of security cooperation for Latin America and the Caribbean.”
Guyana has approved several oil licenses in the Essequibo, a territory that belongs to Venezuela’s national heritage. One of these concessions was approved on April 13 in favor of the U.S. company ExxonMobil in undelimited maritime areas.
The Essequibo conflict reached its highest point after Venezuela held a referendum in December whereby the people decided to protect sovereignty over the Guayana Essequiba.
In correspondence with the popular mandate, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro ordered measures such as the establishment of a military division near the area. Gil reiterated that the territorial controversy “only concerns Guyana and Venezuela” and affirmed that both nations will resolve this territorial dispute through direct negotiations.

Sanctions Seek to Thwart an Alternative Model: President Maduro
On Monday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro asserted that the U.S. unilateral coercive measures imposed against his nation aim to hinder the construction of an economic model alternative to neoliberalism and capitalism.
“We are building a new economic-social formation… We have suffered a relentless and brutal attack. What are its goals? To prevent the construction from Venezuela of an alternative model that achieves well-being, peace, and a new democracy, a model demonstrating that there are indeed alternatives to neoliberalism and savage capitalism,” he said.
Maduro recalled that the sanctions promoted by Washington and supported by the local oligarchy have caused a patrimonial loss of around US$642 billion to Venezuela.
The Bolivarian revolution responded to this attack with planned actions to guarantee food through the Local Supply and Production Committees; education and health through the Great Missions; and production through the Homeland bond system.
Thanks to public policy and popular resistance, the Venezuelan economy has managed to maintain positive growth rates for 11 consecutive quarters.
“The non-oil economy has grown, producing food, medicine, and construction. The oil economy is also starting to grow, with its own capital,” the Venezuelan president said, emphasizing that these efforts simultaneously allow the growth of the “exemplary and unique welfare state left to us by Commander Hugo Chavez.”

The Blockade Against Venezuela Must Cease: Delcy Rodríguez
The Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez proceeded to sign on Thursday the booklets that gather hundreds of signatures of Venezuelans against the blockade imposed by the United States Government on the South American country.
Rodriguez, in tune with the signing act, said that “the veins of the Venezuelan people run anti-imperialist blood” and emphasized that coercive measures by Washington must cease.
Following this line, the leader supported her arguments by stating that the end of the blockade would allow her countrymen to have the right to “health, life” and “the future”.
“The US government and the extremists are trying to steal the country’s wealth, but what they don’t have is the strength of the Venezuelan people, which is anti-imperialist,” she said.

Bloodthirsty past of Edmundo Gonzalez revealed
Edmundo González Urrutia, the candidate of the right wing, participated in the financing and logistics of brutal acts in El Salvador, when he was an official of the Venezuelan embassy in that country, at the time when Leopoldo Castillo was the ambassador. This was revealed on Wednesday, by the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (Psuv), Diosdado Cabello, in his tv program “Con el mazo dando”.
The past of Edmundo González was made known by a former Colombian official, María Catalina Restrepo Pinzón de Londoño, through a letter sent to Cabello, who read it in the program.
“Under the command of Castillo and the advice of González Urrutia, the infamous death squads were unleashed. The reports from those days are chilling: from massacres of innocent civilians, to the persecution and assassination of teachers and community leaders. Not to mention the ruthless attacks against religious and children,” reads part of the missive.
It adds that “Edmundo was supremely committed to these atrocities, being an active part of the financing and logistics of these brutal acts. The situation was so serious that the Church itself and some international organizations were raising their voices against the violence, which was known to have the unrestricted support of the same embassy where this second-rate official worked”.
The document indicates “that on November 24, 1976, Gonzalez Urrutia joined the Venezuelan embassy in the United States as a civil servant, in the middle of the development of Plan Condor; there he was recruited by the CIA”…”, and later, in July 1981 he was transferred to the Venezuelan embassy in El Salvador, whose ambassador was Leopoldo Castillo.

Testimony: María Corina Machado received bribe to hand over Pdvsa “if she won elections”.
The evidence of such bribe was presented by the Brazilian journalist Patricia De Oliveira Souza Lelis, who worked covering Latin American news in the United States in an emporium of several media such as Fox News and who also organizes international lobbies, according to Venezuela News, who had access to the documents in an interview with Souza Lelis.
The money given to Machado was not only to promote her in this year’s presidential campaign -despite the fact that she is disqualified for treason- and that she was previously aware of this procedure. It was also to be used in social media campaigns and other pro-government plans.
Souza Lelis began her work in lobbying focused on Venezuela and that is when she met María Corina Machado, who was selling herself as a presidential candidate to the Americans.
The $3.2 million paid to MCM
The U.S. Government sought to promote María Corina Machado’s alleged leadership among the public opinion and also to position President Nicolás Maduro as a dictator. For this reason, they disbursed 3.2 million dollars for the primary elections.
This is further proven by the leading role Machado took in these elections despite the fact that they had no legal validity and why the leader denied any help from the National Electoral Council.
The direct link also included Pedro Luis Urruchurtu, in charge of María Corina Machado’s international relations and requested by the Venezuelan justice system on charges such as treason, conspiracy, money laundering and criminal association, it should be noted. In addition, other Republicans such as the prosecutor linked to Donald Trump, William Barr, said Souza Lelis.
The evidence reveals that the money was moved through the Disenso foundation as the recipient of such resources for the campaign and the smear work through social networks.
María Corina Machado was negotiating Venezuela’s resources with the United States in exchange for promoting her candidacy. In addition, managing a complete campaign of fakenews and smears against President Maduro.
