The Food and Nutrition Security Crisis Preparedness Workshop is taking place from Wednesday, May 29th to Thursday, May 30th, 2024, at Hotel Alexandrina.
This pivotal event brings together a diverse group of stakeholders from various Ministries and Government Agencies to develop a comprehensive national food security and nutrition crisis plan for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The workshop aims to establish a detailed plan for managing major food and nutrition security crises. It will outline the processes for active monitoring and identification of potential crisis risks, alongside step-by-step protocols, defined roles, and timelines for mobilizing additional funding and initiating early action.
The plan will create an operational framework designed to support the systematic recognition of emerging crises.
It will ensure prompt action across government, humanitarian, and development partners, including international collaborators, to prevent and mitigate the impacts of future food and nutrition security crises.
By bringing together experts and stakeholders from various sectors, this workshop represents a proactive approach to enhancing the SVG’s resilience against potential food and nutrition security threats.
