- VINCY HEAT EXCELS IN CONCACAF
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Senior Men’s Vincy Heat squad were given a welcome reception at the Argyle International Airport on Monday.
On hand to welcome them were Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, Minister of Sport Hon. Orando Brewster, President of the SVG Football Federation Ezra Hendrickson and other sporting officials.
Speaking at the press briefing at the Argyle International Airport, Dr. Gonsalves said he is pleased with the team’s performance and encouraged players to exercise discipline and remain focused on their endeavours.
“I don’t just want the team to do well in an episodic way, I want to see us do well in a sustained manner and I want to see you, yourself, develop very well…and when you want to develop in whatever you do, you have to work hard at it, you have to work smart at it,” Dr. Gonsalves encouraged.
The Vincy Heat team continues to make strides as the CONCACAF Nations League Championship progresses.
Vincy Heat drawn in Group A of League B, has played their opening round of the competition with success.
A 2-0 victory over Montserrat on Sunday and a 1-1 draw on Thursday against Bonaire ushered the team to 4 points and placed Vincy Heat second in Group A behind El Salvador.
Both matches were played in Bonaire.
