Carpenter charged with the offences of Wounding and Damage to Property
On September 18, 2024, police arrested and charged Keon Cain, a 43-year-old Carpenter of Layou with the offences of Wounding and Damage to Property.
According to the investigations, the accused allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 42-year-old Steel Bender of Layou by striking him with a glass bottle to the left side of his face.
He was also charged with damaging one (1) stainless steel Gold Chain, value $350.00 ECC, the property of the complainant, by pulling it with his hands.
The offences were committed on September 9, 2024 in Layou.
Cain appeared before the Layou Magistrate Court on September 19, 2024 where he pleaded guilty to both charges. He was ordered to compensate the complainant in the amount of $1800.00 ECC and fined $600.00 ECC by the court, to be paid in six months or spend one year in prison. For the charge of Damage to Property he was placed on a bond for six months in the sum of $600.00 ECC, failure to comply will result in him spending six months in prison.
