Two men sustained chop wounds on Saturday night in an incident that took place in the constituency of South Central Windward.
The incident occurred at two separate homes, which are located in the same compound, one holding a social gathering.
News784 was told that the attacker short reign of terror started at a house a stone throw from where the social gathering was taking place.
At that house the assailant knocked on the door when it was opened, a young man in his early 20’s was chopped on the shoulder.
The victim according to reports recognised the individual as his cousin and said it’s me, to which he received a second chop would this time to the left hand.
Following such, the assailant then proceeded to the social gathering, on his entrance, persons seeing the man brandishing a cutlass dashed for safety.
However, Michael Baptiste a 30 yro of South Rivers was not so fortunate and sustained chop wounds to his right hand and the back of his head.
The 20-year-old was rushed to the Evesham Health Centre and then to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital. Michael Baptiste was taken directly to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
Both men survived their injuries. It is not clear why the attack took place. However, the assailant is now in police custody.
