With reference to a press release that was disseminated to members of the media on January 31, 2018, in relation to an incident that occurred at the Beachcombers Hotel about 5:45 am the said day.
the Public Relations and Complaints Department of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) wishes to state that at no time during this incident that any of the guest houses at the hotel were burglarised by the suspect Mr. Raphael Robinson commonly known as “King Kong” as previously reported in the press release date 31.01.2018.
Reports are that approximately 5:45 am Raphael Robinson, 40 years unemployed of Prospect, commonly known as “King Kong”, entered upon the property at Beachcombers Hotel with a blue T-shirt tied around his face.
He was challenged by Guardsman Security to leave the premises and refused to adhere to the order.
As a result, he was shot in his upper left leg by the Security Officer who was on duty at the time. He is currently a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) and reported to be in stable condition.
Any inconvenience caused as a result of the information contained in the press release dated 31.118 is deeply regretted.
