PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Jumonne Exeter(So./St. Vincent) of Saint Augustine’s University highlighted the final day of the Penn Relays with a men’s triple jump victory at Franklin Field on Saturday, April 30, 2016.
Exeter leaped 51-1¾ to defeat Amanze Williams of the University of Connecticut and Richard Crick of Virginia State University in the college division. The winning mark tied a career-high for Exeter. Williams was second (50-8¼) and Crick placed third (50-2).
His victory was the second at the Penn Relays this weekend for Saint Augustine’s University. On Thursday, Shakinah Brooks (Jr./Raleigh, NC) won the women’s long jump at the oldest and largest track and field meet in the United States.
While Exeter took care of business in the triple jump, the Falcons and Lady Falcons showcased their talents in the relay races Saturday. The best performances were turned in by the nation’s top-ranked men’s 4×100 and 4×400 relay squads. Competing against Division I competition, the Division II Falcons placed fourth in the finals of both relays in the Championship of America Invitational.
Exeter said Vincentian Richard Crick had a rough time this year battling knee injuries however he secured a provisional national qualification and 3rd place.
