As families in SVG get ready to celebrate one of the most important persons in the household, MOM, one local business, Chill’n is taking the celebrations to another level by going beyond Mother’s Day on May 8th & teaming up with local charity, Leave Out Violence in SVG (LOVNSVG) for an entire month.
Marketing & Public Relations Consultancy Ignite! that handles the restaurant/bar/lounge’s marketing & pr initiatives stated that the celebrations will take the form of the ‘Card for a Cause’ which can be purchased for $10.
Patrons can then show the card any time during the month of May & receive discounts on any purchase at Chill’n.
At the end of May, 5% of all purchases made by patrons who present the card, will be donated to the LOVNSVG charity.
According to President of the charity, Nailah John, “the LOVNSVG partnership with Chill’n is a critical milestone in our effort to increase awareness on the issues of domestic violence throughout St Vincent and the Grenadines and soon throughout the entire region.
It is our sincere wish that proceeds from this campaign be used to positively effect social change regarding the issue of domestic violence.
Funds received from this endeavour will be invested in avenues such as counseling, educational programs and awareness campaigns.
Nothing can be changed or improved without first creating awareness”.
Co-owner of Chill’n, Dr. Jacqueline P. James- Lyttle added that the campaign is a step towards celebrating women as well as supporting the fight for their safety, their physical, emotional and financial freedom and more.
She commented that it was on this premise that the ‘CHILL’N WALL’ that celebrates women as well this initiative was created.
The ‘wall’ has generated significant attention with customers signing the wall to show their support.
The campaign will run until the end of May.
Chill’n recently celebrated its one year anniversary and is co-owned by Carl James and one of SVG’s cultural ambassador, Kevin Lyttle.
