The St. Vincent and the Grenadines leg of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in its Criminal Jurisdiction began sitting here on Tuesday 25th, September 2018, at the High Court in Capital Kingstown with Justice Brian Cottle presiding.
Justice Cottle welcomed and thanked members of the jury for their prompt attendance.
He, however, warned them that whenever they cannot attend Court when requested to do so and do not inform the relevant authority a fine of EC$40.00 will be imposed.
He pointed out to them that when they are called upon to serve as a Juror, it is one of the best civic duty they can perform with regards to the adjudication over cases.
Justice Cottle further told jurors that during the trial they must always listen attentively to the evidence and at the conclusion come to a just and perfect decision.
Meanwhile, there are some one hundred and fifteen (115) cases listed to be heard during the session.
Dominating the list are cases of rape, unlawful sexual intercourse and murder among others.
