The Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines will be spending over 5Million dollars to construct a total of five Satellite Warehouses throughout the state.
This announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves at the opening of a new satellite warehouse on Tuesday 9th October 2018.
The warehouse which was opened at Noel, Sandy Bay is the first of two constructed Satellite Warehouses the second is expected to be opened in Rose Hall.
The warehouses were designed by architectural firm, TVA Consultants Limited, and constructed at a combined cost of EC$308, 000.
The warehouses will be managed by the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO).
Director of NEMO, Michelle Forbes, said that in the event of a disaster, emergency supplies and food will now be stored at the newly constructed facility.
