Eight hundred and eighty-seven students who sat the 2018 examinations for their Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC), Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE) and Associate Degrees will be awarded the $500 gift from the government for their performance later this week.
Of the recipients 557 are for CSEC, 228 for CAPE and 102 for Associate Degrees.
The Ministry of Education says that to be eligible for the award, CSEC students must have gained five passes (Grades I to 3) including Mathematics and English A.
CAPE students must have gained passes (Grades I to 5) in at least two two-Unit subjects as well as in the single Unit Communication Studies (or Caribbean Studies) in two consecutive years.
Students in the various Associate Degree programmes must have gained at least a B – average.
Of the recipients who gained Associate Degrees and will receive this award, one hundred and two are from St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College: nine from the Division of Arts, Sciences and General Studies; fifty-one from the Division of Technical and Vocational Education and forty-two from the Division of Teacher Education.
Recipients of the award are asked to present themselves at the Villa Campus of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College at 9:00am on Thursday, November 22, with proof of identity bearing a photograph.
