The National Aids Secretariat is urging Vincentians to get tested so as to know their HIV/AIDS status.
The National AIDS Secretariat within the Ministry of Health, made the appeal as the unit launched its activities to commemorate World AIDS Day 2018.
This year’s theme for World AIDS Day, which will be marking its 30th anniversary on December 1, will be “Know your status” with the local slogan “Get up and get tested.”
Mrs. Ferosa Roache, Director of the HIV/AIDS Unit speaking at the launch said that there is still a vital need for persons to get tested and improve their knowledge about HIV and AIDS.
Mrs. Roache said that St. Vincent and the Grenadines has made progress in the AIDS response since the first HIV case was diagnosed here in 1984.
