St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is pleased with its rate of solving homicide matters in 2018.
Statistics revealed that 11 of the 34 homicides recorded for 2018 were solved, with nine of them between August and November.
At the end of 2017, 26 of the 40 homicides recorded for that year remained unsolved.
However, in addition to the 11 homicides cracked in relation to 2018, the police were also able to solve a number of homicides recorded during the previous years.
Commissioner of Police Colin John attributed the several arrests made in the latter part of 2018 to a combination of factors.
He told the Vincentian newspaper that during that period, the police had stepped up patrol in certain areas and increased targeted searchers.
