A meeting which should have been held with executive members of the SVGTU, PSU and the government did not go ahead as planned due to members of the unions not wanting to adhere to a security policy at the Prime Minister’s Office.
According to information obtained, the union members were told to leave cellular phones with security which is the protocol for every visitor going to the Prime Ministers office, they refused.
The Public Service Union and The St Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers Union were scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Gonsalves following a request by the PM’s office.
The Unions were invited to discuss among other things, salary increases and pension reform.
