The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce invites potential applicants to submit applications for the Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The programme supports projects proposed by local non-profit organisations including non-governmental organisations, schools, hospitals and local government authorities, which are designed to benefit communities at the grassroots level.
The Embassy of Japan is currently in the process of accepting GGP applications for the Japanese fiscal year 2019 (1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020) in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, in the areas covering, but not limited to, poverty alleviation, public welfare, the environment (including climate change mitigation and adaptation) and disaster risk management, primary health care and education.
A ceiling of 10,000,000 Japanese Yen (approximately US$90,900) is set for one project for the fiscal year 2019.
Officials in the Department of Foreign Policy and Research in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Commerce indicate that the deadline for applications is March 28, 2019 to meet the Embassy’s deadline of March 31, 2019 and application forms and other guidelines can be accessed on the Ministry’s website www.foreign.gov.vc. Applications should be submitted to the Bilateral Unit in the Ministry on or before the deadline.
