Forty four Ecuadorian teachers will graduate today from their seven month Teach English Caribbean programme at the Villa campus of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Community College.
This programme commenced on November 9, 2015 and was designed to improve the competency of these Ecuadorian English Teachers.
The first three months focused on English as a second Language. The next three months focused on Teaching of English as a Second Language, and the final month saw the students pursuing a teaching practicum attachment in Vincentian schools.
Other Ecuadorian teachers were simultaneously attending classes at the Dominica State College and University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill campus in Barbados.
Monday’s Graduation Ceremony to mark the completion of this cohort of the Teach English Programme took place from 2:00pm in Lecture Theatre 2 at the Villa Campus of the Community College.
Senator Deborah Charles, Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Education, National Reconciliation and Ecclesiastical Affairs, delivered remarks on behalf of the Ministry, while Saboto Caesar, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Rural Transformation, delivered the feature address.
