A motion on electoral reform would be brought to the House of Assembly at its next sitting and tabled by the leader of the opposition.
The leader of the Opposition Godwin Friday notified the sitting of parliament on Monday 1st April of his intention to do so in light of matters arising from the recent election petitions brought by his party, and which was dismissed by the court.
He noted that a draft copy already existed which he wanted to be presented to the House, however, the speaker notified the Opposition leader that there is no need to do so at this time.
The Opposition leader stated that the time is right and conditions warrant that such a debate take place.
Prime Minister Gonsalves in responding to the Oppositions notification of bringing such motion, stated that caution should be taken on the grounds that the Opposition may want to appeal the ruling.
