A fund has been established to help radio personality Laverne Phillips who is now hospitalised at the Kingstown General Hospital and needs urgent medical attention.
The Laverne Brain Tumor Fund was established by Ankia Neptune, a veteran of the United States Army, and cousin to Phillips.
Neptune said last night she received a call from her sister, who told her that Philips is in the hospital and needs emergency surgery.
Ankia is hoping that the monies raised would be able to get Phillips on her way to the United States of America for surgery.
Neptune stated that Philips has to be medically evacuated to save her life. $1,000 dollars or $100,000 dollars, my family will appreciate every bit of help that we can get for her Neptune said.
