While all eyes are on Caribbean Olympian Usain St. Leo Bolt to see if he can make history at Rio 2016 and win the third set of gold medals, there are several other athletes from across the region who will be competing after the curtains come up on the Summer Olympics in Rio in Brazil – Friday, August 5th.
There are 396 athletes from 20 nations in the Caribbean who will compete at the 2016 Summer Games. But here’s a list of athletes from St Vincent participating.
Nikolas Sylvester Participated in Commonwealth games and Pan American Games. Recently Graduated from the St Vincent Grammer School.
Brandon Valentine-Parris Vincentian athlete will be representing St Vincent in the 400-metre dash in RIO 2016.
Kineke Alicia Alexander (born 21 February 1986 in Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines) is a Vincentian sprinter who competed in the 400m event at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics. She was the flag bearer for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the 2008 opening ceremony and the 2012 opening ceremony. She was also the Saint Vincent and the Grenadines flagbearer at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
