The Owia Sports and Cultural Organisation (OSCO) is back in action with a number of plans to take the North Windward community forward.
An election was held on Sunday evening August 28th 2016 at Salt Pond Recreational site where a new executive was elected to run the affairs of the organization.
The members of the new OSCO executive are as follows:
President-elect Arnette Pollard
Vice -Rochelle Baptiste
Pro-Shaffiquer Nanton
Treasurer – Danroy king and assistant Wennecia Willis
Secretary – Fayann Pollard
Sports officer-Shandine small
Committee Members: Kenisha Nanton; Ieisha Nanton and Britney Baptiste
The group’s first event will be held this Saturday September 3rd 2016 in the form of a River Lime and Bingo. The funds raised will also be used to host the upcoming women’s 20/20 cricket competition which is expected to attract a number of teams from communities in the North Windward and other constituencies.
The competition is expected to get started on September 17th 2016.
The other activities for the remainder of the year will include a Health Seminar and a Christmas party for Children in the area along with Christmas lunch for the needy.
The group in its release said they are grateful for the support given over the years by the people of Owia, surrounding communities along with their sponsors, and looks forward to continuing partnership in the years to come.
