Police have arrested and charged Jamarie Bushay, a 27-year-old Labourer of Vermont with the offence of Grievous Bodily Harm on 21.11.2020.
According to investigations carried out, the Accused allegedly unlawfully and maliciously wounded a 50-year-old Resident of Vermont by stabbing him in his left eye with a pair of scissors causing Grievous Bodily Harm. The incident occurred at Vermont about 10:30pm on 21.11.2020.
Bushay appeared before the Kingstown Magistrate Court for arraignment. He was not expected to plea since it is an indictable offence. Bail was granted in the sum of $7000.00 with one surety. He was ordered not to contact the virtual complainant and report the Vermont Police Station on Mondays between 8am and 8pm. The matter was adjourned to 30.11.2020 and transferred to the Serious Offences Court.
