Since the CCTV system was launched in St Vincent, official statistics from July to December 2020 show that the system has helped law enforcement with investigations.
So far, police have been able to access evidence for 50 cases, including accident, robbery, property damage, etc.
Critical video evidence was provided in 28 cases which helped to close them successfully.
The RSVGPF stated that law enforcement has in its hands a valuable tool in that of the CCTV system to complement the fight against crime on the island.
In the future, the RSVGPF hopes to expand CCTV coverage and location, which will be of positive help in constructing the social safety net.
