(BVI POLICE REPORT) – Officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force Major Crime Team are now in a position to release the name of the victim in yesterday’s shooting.
Deverson Williams, 38, a native of St. Vincent, who resided in Long Trench, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining several gunshot wounds while in his vehicle in the Fish Bay area around 3:45 pm yesterday.
The victim’s vehicle, nearby vehicles and the International Motors building also sustained damage. Evidence indicates that a high-powered weapon was used in this incident.
Following the incident, a search warrant was carried out on a property on Tortola which resulted in the seizure of a loaded firearm and ammunition.
Two persons were arrested as a result.
