Colombian Retiree Mateo Florez charged with Offensive Weapon
On April 16, 2025, police arrested and charged Mateo Florez, a 41-year-old retiree from Colombian, with the offence of Possession of an Offensive Weapon.
According to investigations, on April 16, 2025, the accused was allegedly found in possession of an offensive weapon, namely, a cutlass, along the Rose Bank Public Road, without lawful excuse and with intent to commit an offence.
Mr. Florez appeared before the Layou Magistrate Court on April 17, 2025, following which he was admitted to the Mental Health Center for a two weeks evaluation. The matter was adjourned to May 2, 2025.
