Commuters and residents in Northern St Vincent have been left in a bind after heavy rains flooded a road leading to the South of the island.
There have been heavy rains in St Vincent due to a trough system affecting the Windward Islands.
Recent photos show at least a half-mile of backed-up vehicles on either side of the roadway with persons who were heading to work and school in the south of the island or returning.
According to the MET office in its 6 am weather bulletin, a flash flood watch is in effect, and residents and motorists in areas prone to flash-flooding and landslides or near rivers and streams should be prepared.
There is also a favourable upper-level environment in place, which increases the opportunity for rainfall and possible thunderstorm activity to peak by midweek (Wednesday) in the Southern Windward Islands, which include SVG.
