Caribbean Development Bank appoints new president
The Board of Governors of the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has elected Mr. Daniel Best from Barbados as the seventh President of the institution.
He possesses a Master of Business Administration from the University of Durham, England, along with a Master’s in Construction Engineering and Management and a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of the West Indies at St. Augustine, Trinidad. Best possesses certification as a Project Management Professional.
Best has significant experience and a thorough understanding of the development challenges and opportunities in the region. Possessing more than twenty years of expertise in development finance, policy formulation, and infrastructure investment, he is well-prepared to lead the CDB through a transformative period of regional change.
As President, Best will oversee the Bank’s strategic initiatives, focussing on alleviating poverty, addressing inequality, and fostering inclusive and sustainable development. His leadership aims to improve the Bank’s current contributions while addressing emerging challenges and opportunities in a changing global context.
