Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is scheduled to deliver the feature address at the opening of the 14th annual OECS Credit Union Summit to be held here next week.
The opening ceremony of the summit takes place on Thursday September 15, 2016 at the Buccament Bay Resort, beginning at 8:30am.
President of the SVG Co-operative League, Dwight Lewis says Dr. Gonsalves who is also the Minister of Finance is expected to address the current global financial and economic climate, and interpret its short and long term effect on the economies of the OECS including its likely impact on the credit Union movement.
Mr. Lewis said other remarks at the opening ceremony will come from Minister of National Mobilization and Social Development, Fredrick Stephenson, Mr. Aaron Moses-President of the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions, Mr. David Frizz-CEO of Co-operate Enterprise Finance Facility Limited and presidents of the national leagues in each country.
The summit will be convened under the theme “Strengthening OECS Credit Union Co-operation, Integration and Innovation”.
