JCI St. Vincent, also known as St. Vincent Jaycees is a youth development organization that has been serving our communities for over 60 years. The Organization’s vision is to be the leading global network of young active citizens and its Mission is to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change.
This year, the Peace is Possible Committee, chaired by JCI Member Mr. Nick Francis, will execute three main activities under the theme: “With Everyone a Leader, Peace is Possible”. This theme reinforces the importance of personal responsibility towards achieving Peace in our homes, communities, workplaces, institutions and organizations. It also opens up an important discussion on the type of traits, characteristics, skill-sets and values that are necessary towards developing Peace Leaders.
Firstly – Jaycees members including past presidents, alumni, senators and others will produce short video presentations on the important values and character traits that are necessary to be a Peace Leader. This will reflect the project theme which is “With Everyone a Leader Peace is Possible”. These videos will be posted on the JCI St. Vincent Facebook Page and Instagram Account leading up to Peace is Possible Day which is celebrated on Monday 21st September, 2020.
Secondly – JCI St. Vincent will launch its Peace is Possible Art Competition which is open to Primary and Secondary School Students and will run from Monday 31st August to Sunday 20th September. The theme for the competition is “Peace is Possible” and all artwork submitted must reflect or incorporate this theme. 1st Place will receive a prize of $500.00, 2nd Place $250.00 and 3rd Place will receive $125.00 for each category.

Registration opens on Monday 31st August and closes on Monday 7th September. JCI St. Vincent wishes to express its deepest appreciation to the Bank of St. Vincent and the Grenadines for sponsoring the prize monies for the Peace is Possible Art Competition.
Finally, JCI St. Vincent will be hosting an online Webinar on the topic: COVID-19 and Conflict Resolution in the Home on Monday September 21st at 7:30 PM Eastern Caribbean Time. For those who wish to participate in the Webinar, the link to register is located on JCI St. Vincent’s Facebook page www.facebook.com/jcistvincentsvg. The featured guest speaker will be Dr. Ronya Foy-Connor, Department Head at the Gender Affairs Unit in Anguilla. The Webinar will also be streamed live on Facebook.
